Unfavourable Weather
Stargazing tours are weather-dependent. Stargazing Waiheke has no direct contact with the Weather Gods, and therefore, is unable to guarantee clear skies, or visibility of certain objects on our tours.
Please note, that the weather on Waiheke Island and Auckland can be very different, our island has its own unique micro-climate, therefore it is important to check with us before the tour.
Weather conditions can be unstable during the day of a booking but may improve by the time of tour. therefore Stargazing Waiheke reserve the right to confirm or cancel the tour 3 hours before the start of tour.
In the event, Stargazing Waiheke determines no stargazing is possible due to the weather conditions, customers are offered the options below:
- Reschedule to a different date if availability permits.
- Get a full refund.
You can check the satellite and rain-radar maps at the MetService website. Another great source (and our team’s favourite) is Windy website
Dress Code
Please note that nights are cold in New Zealand and you need to dress appropriately. Wear warm clothes, and take extra jacket and wind-proof layer, hat or hood. Shoes must be warm and comfortable, ideally – water resistant, because you will be in natural environment and sometimes grass gets wet due to dew!
