Welcome to our tour for small groups (max 10), where you will receive a personalised experience. You’ll enjoy and learn fascinating insights into a range of astronomy subjects, gain expert tips for amateur stargazers and more! This tour is designed to offer an inspiring, fun and wonder filled Waiheke stargazing experience to families, friends, couples, and solo-travelers.

Our tours are designed to offer:

• Naked-eye introduction orientation to explore our starry neighborhood above

• Use of our Binoculars for closer looks

• Viewings through our 8” Dobsonian telescopes for  even closer looks of breathtaking southern deep sky objects

• Comfortable outdoor seating with cosy blankets to snuggle up with, relax and watch the stars twinkle above.

• Hot drink and astro snacks to keep you warm.

• Follow up emails of what you saw on the night, (so you don’t forget how gorgeous it is up there!) *along with a lasting memory of  a group photo of you under the southern skies.

Tour duration: 60 – 90 minutes

As sunset times vary throughout the year, our tour start times will be set accordingly, to ensure optimal viewing conditions.

• Upon arrival you will be briefed on Health and Safety (H&S) and asked to sign the H&S form.
• Please note that nights are cold in New Zealand and you need to dress appropriately. It is good to wear warm top and bottom and take extra jacket and wind-proof layer. Shoes must be warm and comfortable, ideally – water resistant, because you will be in natural environment and sometimes grass gets wet due to dew.
